Andrew Wood, MD

Sports Medicine

Andrew Wood is a board certified physician in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine.  He is originally from Illinois and went to Medical school at Rush University.  He then completed his training in Family Medicine at Rose Hospital here in Denver in conjunction with the University of Colorado and then finished his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Wake Forest University in North Carolina.  He has been a physician covering a wide range of events, such as ultramarathons like the Leadville Trail 100 and the Bear Chase Race, professional baseball, multiple NCAA collegiate sporting events and been a high school team physician.  In addition to his Denver Health clinics, he works at the Winter Park ski area clinic.  Being a primary care sports medicine physician, he is passionate about returning athletes and people of all ages back to activities they love as well as getting people back to work to have fulfilling lives.  He does this through focusing on strengthening and flexibility exercises as well as the importance of diet.  He is also trained in several types of ultrasound procedures.
